How did you get into racing? And how did you get involved with Old Gold Racing…?
My Grandad used to watch the ITV7 when I was little so I guess I had an early introduction. My OGR journey started with Apple Away after seeing a post by Lucinda who I follow on Facebook. I now also have shares in Kingston James and The Hawkstonian!

What do you love most about racing?
Primarily I just love the horses but I enjoy studying form and trying to beat the bookies! There’s nothing better than an actual race day, seeing the horses up close and the exhilaration of seeing them compete.

What is the best experience you’ve had in racing?
Other than being in the parade ring and winners enclosure as an owner with OGR I ‘d say seeing Kauto Star win his 5th King George at Kempton, RIP Kauto!

Favourite jockey?
I always liked Jamie Moore…..hard-working, got best out of his mounts but with bottomless compassion for the horse’s well-being.

Tell us about an experience you’ve had with Old Gold Racing?
Living on the edge of the Cairngorms, my opportunities are comparatively limited but the stable visit to Lucinda’s last month and seeing the stable in operation, seeing two of my stable in the flesh, meeting other owners and then going racing at Perth was a delight….that experience alone is worth more than the cost of a share in my view!

Other hobbies/interests?
I play golf and since retiring have started to try my hand in the garden growing vegetables.
