Old Gold Racing launch most expensive purchase yet in leading pointer

Discover Outmaster, Old Gold Racing’s latest launch and the UK’s top‑rated 4‑year‑old point‑to‑pointer.

Old Gold Racing have shown their support for 14-time Champion Trainer, Paul Nicholls, with the launch of their most expensive horse purchase to date, in the shape of the exciting Outmaster.

Outmaster was recently rated as the leading four-year-old UK point-to-pointer!

Purchased at the Tattersalls Cheltenham April sale by the highly respected Anthony Bromley of Highflyer Bloodstock, with Paul Nicholls. Outmaster won on debut at Edgcote point-to-point in April 2025. He was strongly fancied that day, and he duly delivered, scoring easily by 12 Lengths, being eased up after the final fence. Allowed to settle and get into a rhythm, he always looked the winner and should only improve as he fills into his large frame.

Outmaster’s sire, Masterstroke, earned over £560,000 in prize money in a career that included Group wins and a placed effort in the Group One Prix de l’Arc de Triumph. At stud he has many of the most exciting horses currently in training, including Kopeck De Mee, Kador De Ciergues and Wreckless Eric.

She’s Dylan was unraced but has been sent to some of the best stallions in the country including Masterstoke, Gentlewave and Blue Bresil. Further back in the pedigree are the likes of Denman and Silverburn, a real National Hunt page.

Paul Nicholls took out his trainer’s licence in 1991 and has dominated the sport for three decades! Paul has trained from Manor Farm Stables in Ditcheat from the off. His achievements are second to none; he has been awarded an OBE for his services to horseracing, crowned Champion Trainer 14 times and trained over 3,700 winners with close to 150 of them at Grade 1 level.

Paul has always been taken with Outmaster and recommended him to Old Gold reporting, “He’s a nice big scopy horse, nice pedigree and a real nice individual.” Adding “He’ll win plenty of races!”

Outmaster is working away well at Ditcheat with Paul saying “he cruises up over our hill…he’s a pleasure to have about”.

Shares will be available to purchase in Outmaster from Tuesday 16th September for all owners who have joined the waiting list, with the public sale of any remaining shares taking place on Thursday 18th September.

Shares will be available for just £60. You can join the waiting list and find out more about Outmaster here.
