Old Gold Racing Celebrates Six Year Anniversary With Special Video

What really happens to retired racehorses? Follow Bob Pebble, Old Gold Racing’s first horse, as he transitions into a successful Team Chaser.

On the 19th December 2019, Old Gold Racing was launched as a company with our first horse, Bob Pebble.

Bob was trained by 14-time Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls, with the hope and dreams of our founders behind him.

However, things don't turn out always as you'd hope. Bob Pebble never won a race, he never went to Cheltenham, he never made the headlines.

So what really happens to racehorses when they retire?

Today, Bob Pebble is living his very best life. He's happy, healthy, and thriving in a new environment.

This is Bob Pebble now — and this is what retirement looks like when racing gets it right.
