Introducing Lenebane, an attractive and very promising 5-year-old filly, in training with Rebecca Menzies.
Lenebane has run in four maiden hurdles in Ireland and is already proving to be talented and progressive.
Her most final run in Ireland saw her finish 2nd – only 1½ lengths behind Magical Zoe, a smart filly out of Henry De Bromhead’s yard. Click HERE to watch the race.
Lenebane is sired by Vadamos and out of the well bred mare, Callmeakhab. Vadamos was a Group 1 winning miler, who now stands for Coolmore. Callmeakhab’s mother, Viola Royale, is the dam of nine winners from 11 runners and 12 foals. These include the two black type horses, Meleagros and St Andrews I.
There is a lot of flat influence from both sides of the family, putting great speed in her pedigree and by the looks of her runs to date, she will be effective on good to soft ground.
Rebecca told us that “we were very keen to get her brought over to England and I think she’ll be really well suited for the races not just in the North of England but elsewhere as well… she’s got a really good future”.
Ross O’Sullivan, who trained her previously said he was disappointed not to keep her as he feels that “she is going to win a stack of races”, adding that he “really couldn’t recommend her any more”.
The highlight of Lenebane’s first season in England was a promising 3rd at Market Rasen and the form of this race has taken a boost since.
Lenebane was always going to progress with time and after a good summer on her back. She is now back in training at Howe Hills Stables and showed plenty of potential in her seasonal debut at Doncaster a few weeks ago.
We have every reason to believe that she’ll improve off the back of this and that, with more races lined up for her, an exciting season lies ahead for this young mare.
Shares in Lenebane are £60 each. The syndicate term ends 31.01.2024.
