Chaos Control is a well-bred and proven gelding, in training with Stuart Edmunds.
Chaos Control is sired by Mastercraftsman and out of the High Chaparral mare, Va Pensiero.
Mastercraftsman’s progeny include the likes of 150 rated horses, Scaramanga and Master Blueyes. His dam won two of her five races and is by the same stallion as Altior, among many notable others.
Chaos Control is a ‘bright-eyed and bushy tailed’ sort. He loves his job and takes his racing well, as such he has been able to run regularly. Indeed, Chaos Control has run a total of 32 times in the UK and Ireland recording five wins, being placed nine times and winning nearly £40k in prize money to date.
Chaos Control is a versatile horse, having won on the All Weather and been placed on the turf flat racing, together with wins over hurdles at 2 miles, and been placed over 2.5 miles. His first win in the Oakman Racing Club colours was at Market Rasen, where he won by an impressive 22 lengths, earning a rating of 123, which saw Chaos Control ranked in the top 10 juvenile hurdlers in the UK.
Stuart has informed that… “He’s just a thoroughly likeable little horse” and that there should be plenty more fun to be had with him in the near future.
He has already provided his owners with lots of fun days, in running at the headquarters of National Hunt racing, Cheltenham, as well as Aintree where he first ran an excellent race in the 4-Y-O Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 1) at the Aintree Grand National meeting, finishing 6th, before later finishing third in a high-class handicap at the same venue.
His second season over hurdles saw Chaos Control build upon the solid foundation of his juvenile hurdle campaign, where despite the race not going to plan, he finished a close up seventh in the Market Rasen summer hurdle, the premier 2-mile hurdle race of the summer jumping campaign and his season ended on a high note, when he finished third in the £25,000 Stone of Destiny Handicap Hurdle.
He is now back in training with Stuart Edmunds, having successfully rehabilitated from a leg injury. Given that he is fairly well raced for a 6yo, the time he has had out over the past year should only be to his benefit in the long term.
We're very much looking forward to having Chaos Control back in action, fully refreshed and ready to give us many more fun days out...

There are no other partners in this horse, so once 1,000 shares are sold, 100% of the horse will be owned by Old Gold Racing owners.
Unlike other syndicates, Old Gold Racing does not charge owners VAT. This means that there is no need to reclaim VAT and that a share represents a greater proportion of the racehorse.
At the end of the syndicate term any unspent funds are returned to owners pro-rata. These funds can be withdrawn or used against the cost of renewing or purchasing a share.
