Introducing DropEmAtTheStation

DropEmAtTheStation is an eye-catching 5-year-old gelding from the first crop of the blue-blooded stallion, Frontiersman.

He won his most recent Point-to-Point at Knightwick in style in November. The horse he beat by three lengths into second looks a talent and has since achieved a 115 rating in Ireland.

You can watch that race below.

In winning at Knightwick, DropEmAtTheStation improved on what was an impressive 4th on debut at Cotley the season before. Having been travelling the best in that race, his large frame just got the better of him in the latter stages. He has grown into himself considerably since then however.

Indeed, DropEmAtTheStation is a handsome and rangy horse, with Ben Pauling describing him as "a fabulous individual". Ben believes he's got a great future ahead of him in bumpers, over hurdles and ultimately what will be his game, chasing.

His sire, Frontiersman, won four races across his two, three and four-year-old seasons, earning over £266,000 in the process.

While only at the start of his career at stud, he has produced multiple winners. These are headed by Asian Daze, who sold for £200,000 to Gai Waterhouse, and Dodger Long, who has already placed in a Grade 3.

As the son of Dubawi and Oaks winner, Ouija Board, Frontiersman is one of the best bred sires around.

DropEmAtTheStation's dam, La Creole, was a multiple winner in France over both hurdles and fences. As a broodmare, she is responsible for several runners, including the Black Type performer, Bothar Dubh, who earned a peak official rating of 132.

She is by Astarabad, a Group 1 winner who as a Damsire has produced multiple top level winners including Dinoblue and Lisnagar Oscar along with the very exciting The New Lion.

DropEmAtTheStation shares his dam’s sire, Astarabad, with a number of high profile winners, such as Dinoblue, Lisnagar Oscar and the very exciting Challow Hurdle winner, The New Lion.

Having liked DropEmAtTheStation so much as a store, Ben is thrilled to have him in the yard. He told us that: “We’ve got a lovely horse here… he’s a fabulous looking individual” but, most importantly, “he’s a horse that loves his job” and “I think he’s going to give his all”.

DropEmAtTheStation is currently in full training in preparation for his Rules debut later this season.

About The Trainer

Ben Pauling started training in 2013 following a six year spell as Assistant to multiple champion trainer Nicky Henderson. He started with just eight horses but has managed to grow that into a powerful team.

Ben now trains from Naunton Downs Stables which is a purpose built 94 box yard, designed with horse welfare in mind at every stage. Facilities include a Hydrotherapy Spa, 2 gallops, schooling strip, trotting ring and a covered 10-horse walker. It is from here that the team have just celebrated their best season to date (2023-24).

Ben has amassed four Cheltenham Festival winners during his career so far; Willoughby Court, Le Breuil, Global Citizen and, most recently, Shakem Up’Arry. Further Graded successes have been notched up with the likes of Aintree champions Barters Hill, Kildisart and Diva Luna. With a very strong bunch of Novices’ Chasers, including Boxing Day’s Grade 1 winner The Jukebox Man and dual Grade 2 winner Handstands, Ben is enjoying another very successful season.

Share Breakdown

There are no other partners in this horse, so once 3,250 shares are sold, 100% of the horse will be owned by Old Gold Racing owners.

Unlike other syndicates, Old Gold Racing does not charge owners VAT. This means that there is no need to reclaim VAT and that a share represents a greater proportion of the racehorse.

At the end of the syndicate term any unspent funds are returned to owners pro-rata. These funds can be withdrawn or used against the cost of renewing or purchasing a share.
