The Fittocks Racing Syndicate is a unique concept designed to deliver a cost-effective and hands-on experience with the guidance of the esteemed Cumani family.
This page explains the concept, introduces the racehorse and gives you the opportunity to register your interest to be involved with a top-class racehorse from one of the most respected breeding operations in the UK.
There will be 250 shares available and the syndicate will run for two terms, with an annual payment of £299 and no additional fees for the duration of each 12-month syndicate term.
Please note that this is a lease syndicate, so members are not purchasing a share in the racehorse, which is why the cost is so low. However, all members will get a share of 80% of prize money won AND 20% of the sale proceeds of the racehorse should it be sold during the two-year period. For context, if the horse were sold for £1M, each member would receive £1,000 per share.
A further benefit is that the lease fee will be nominal, meaning syndicate members will get access to an excellent prospect at a very competitive rate.
Materialize, who will be leased from Fittocks Stud for the syndicate, is by Frankel and out of Materialistic.
Frankel was unbeaten in all 14 starts during a remarkable racing career that included 10 victories at Group 1 level. His successes featured the 2,000 Guineas, Juddmonte International, Champion Stakes and Dewhurst Stakes, while his dominance across two, three and four-year-old campaigns earned him an official rating of 140 and almost £3 million in prize-money. Widely regarded as one of the greatest racehorses of the modern era, he has continued that success at stud, siring 12 Classic winners including Adayar and Chaldean, becoming the fastest stallion to reach 100 Group winners and establishing himself as a multiple champion sire.
Following her racing career, Materialistic joined the broodmare ranks after winning twice and gaining valuable black type when placed at Listed level for Luca Cumani. She has already produced three winners from her early runners, including Roosevelt, a full-brother to Materialize who realised 950,000 guineas at the sales. The family has continued to produce high-class performers, with Pattern race horses such as Dr Drill, Pinzolo and Lion Sands all appearing on the page.
Materialistic is by Oasis Dream, the outstanding sprinter who captured the Group 1 July Cup before becoming one of Europe’s leading stallions. Renowned for passing on both speed and class, he has sired top-level winners across the globe, while his daughters have produced Group 1 performers including Nations Pride, Sir Dragonet and Melbourne Cup hero Twilight Payment. The cross between Frankel and daughters of Oasis Dream has also proven highly successful, producing an impressive winners-to-runners strike rate.
Andrew Balding, son of legendary trainer Ian Balding and brother of esteemed broadcaster Clare Balding, took over the licence at Kingsclere in 2003 and made the perfect start when Casual Look won the Epsom Oaks in his first season. Since then, he has trained top-class performers including Passing Glance, Elm Park and Here Comes When. Kameko provided him with a second Classic success in the 2020 QIPCO 2,000 Guineas, while Alcohol Free added further Group 1 success in the Cheveley Park Stakes.
The 2025 season proved a career-best, with 194 winners and more than £8.5 million in prize-money earned across Britain and overseas.
There are no other partners in this horse, so once 250 shares are sold, 100% of the lease on the horse will be owned by Fittocks Stud Racing Syndicate members.
Unlike other syndicates, Fittocks Stud Racing Syndicate does not charge owners VAT, so there is no need to reclaim it.
