‘Bob’ is in the care of Diana Jack at Waverley Equestrian. He has been thriving in his new life as a hireling doing plenty of teamchasing and hunting. Tessa Oates regularly rides him and has competed in a number of hunt races on him too.
‘Braq’ belongs to Lara Horn and is very much part of her family. He regularly teamchases, competes in hunt races and can often be found on the hunting field too.
'Dotty' has been a real favourite at Old Gold Racing both with the team and the owners and it was a tough call to rehome her as we had a couple of lovely options. We were delighted that Ella was able to take her on. Ella broke Dotty in as a youngster so a fitting way for her to finish her career. Dotty will be a broodmare and we look forward to seeing her progeny on a racecourse in the future.
‘Darling’ retired from racing and went to live with Diana at Waverley Equestrian to see if he would suit hireling life. Darling has never quite taken to the slower pace of life. It turns out his real forte is team chasing and taking part in hunt rides, he does with real enthusiasm!
'Dolly' was purchased by Mick Fitzgerald and didn't manage to reach the racecourse for the Mick Fitzgerald Racing Club. Her career was one that never quite got going despite best efforts from Chloe, Mick and Jamie. She has gone to join some of the other horses at Waverley Equestrian, she will be given plenty of time to mature and will be assessed in the spring to see what career she would be best suited to.
‘Swift’ is in the care of Diana Jack at Waverley Equestrian. He has found a new career as a hunt hireling. Swift has even turned his hoof to a bit of dressage and showjumping as of late!
Despite Fitz Perfectly being sold on to race by Old Gold her connections have kept us updated with her progress. She is enjoying the retired life in Germany and acts as a lead horse for the young ones at the leading yard of Christian Von Der Recke.
He's a Knowall lives with Taiya, he has taken part in a variety of different competitions from dressage to team chasing and trail hunting. Taiya has a great relationship with Noel and has given him a fun and varied career outside of racing.
Jemura was retired from racing and went to live with our other retirees at Waverley Equestrian.
Although he took to his time there well it was becoming apparent that he wanted more of a one to one home. By chance we were contacted by one of our owners around the same time, they had recently lost their old horse at the grand age of 25. After making sure the home was suitable between ourselves and Diana (Waverley Equestrian) he has made the move to Hay-on-Wye where he has settled in really well making the most of the stunning countryside with lots of hacking when not in the field with his two new friends.
'Rocky' retired from racing and headed to the lovely Sophie Spiteri in Wales. Sophie has given him a quiet time and assessed him to establish the best home. Sophie is a registered RoR retraining yard and takes time to match horses with homes.

‘Ken’ has moved down to a stud in Dorset where she will be covered by their own eventing stallion. She has settled in well to the slower pace of life and we look forward to hearing about her sports horse offspring .
‘Vega’ has gone on to be a broodmare. She had a lovely colt foal by Massaat in the spring of 2023.
‘Darcey’ has joined Kenmya down in Dorset to be covered by the same eventing stallion. She has taken to her new home well and we look forward to seeing what sports horse foals she produces.
‘Goldie’ is in the care of Diana Jack at Waverley Equestrian. He took life pretty easy initially to let him mature and strengthen up. They then started with his retraining and he has since embarked on a new career as a teamchaser and hunt hireling, which he has taken to like a duck to water.
