Although he took to his time there well it was becoming apparent that he wanted more of a one to one home. By chance we were contacted by one of our owners around the same time, they had recently lost their old horse at the grand age of 25. After making sure the home was suitable between ourselves and Diana (Waverley Equestrian) he has made the move to Hay-on-Wye where he has settled in really well making the most of the stunning countryside with lots of hacking when not in the field with his two new friends.
'Katie' is in the care of Diana Jack at Waverley Equestrian. She has settled into her new home well and will learn the ropes of teamchasing and trail hunting this season.
‘Vega’ has gone on to be a broodmare. She had a lovely colt foal by Massaat in the spring of 2023.
‘Goldie’ is in the care of Diana Jack at Waverley Equestrian. He took life pretty easy initially to let him mature and strengthen up. They then started with his retraining and he has since embarked on a new career as a teamchaser and hunt hireling, which he has taken to like a duck to water.
Following a season of Point-to-Pointing with the Arkwright family, 'Secret' is now enjoying retirement with Diana Jack at Waverley Equestrian. She will have him doing various different activities as part of his retraining process. Diana tends to let the horses tell her what their second career will be. If his legs can hold up, there's a possibility he will be seen out on the hunting field next season.
‘Johnny’ is with Annabel Mains and together they have done lots of teamchasing and hunting. He has flourished in his second career and is proving quite versatile, having won a few rosettes in the show jumping ring too.
